Hi, I’m Jen!
I’m a straight-talking Mancunian with a dry sense of humour, a love of podcasts, books and a deep-rooted belief in doing things with integrity. When I am not working, you will usually find me out in the countryside with my lovely little family, enjoying a spa day, or doing something strange and whimsical (did I mention I love reiki and tarot?).
My career has been built entirely inside the tech and cyber security sectors:
8 Years in Tech Recruitment: I spent nearly a decade in the trenches of recruitment, specifically within tech and cyber security. My absolute favourite part of the job was helping people break into the industry and landing them their very first roles. I know exactly how hiring managers filter CVs because I was the one doing it.
4 Years Reskilling Adults: For the past four years, I have worked directly with adults transitioning into cyber security. I have supported over 1,000 professionals from completely different backgrounds, industries and varying levels of neurodiversity, helping them to develop their career management skills and give themselves the best chance of success.
I am very passionate about helping people to see and articulate their value. All too often people do not feel that they have anything worthy of celebration - I have made a career out of proving them wrong. I have set up this practice to continue working with people who need help navigating the job market, entirely on my own terms.
What You Can Expect From Me:
Unfiltered Reality: I value integrity too much to sell you a dream. A shiny new CV on its own is simply not enough to secure a role in today's market, anybody promising you a guaranteed job isn't being straight with you. I deal purely in realistic, practical strategy.
Direct Feedback: If your CV is missing the mark, your networking is falling flat, or you are getting in your own way, I will tell you upfront. I am a very curious person by nature, which means I will ask a lot of questions to figure out exactly where things are going wrong so we can actually fix them.
Real Accountability: We will have a normal, down-to-earth partnership, but I am going to challenge you. I am here to push you out of your comfort zone, test your limits with intense interview prep and make sure you actually do the work required to succeed.
Zero Judgment: Whether you are neurodivergent or shifting from a completely unrelated field, I do not care about a "traditional" background. I care about finding your actual strengths and showing you how to articulate them to recruiters.
